BORG Automotive Newman to launch Lucas-branded spare parts in 2026
BORG Automotive Newman, is introducing a new range of spare parts under the long-established Lucas automotive brand. At market launch, the line will cover a wide range of part numbers for engines, chassis, and transmission.
Following the closure of the former French exclusive distributor, new engine, chassis, and transmission parts from the Lucas brand has gradually disappeared from the European aftermarket. Now they are making their comeback, as BORG Automotive Newman - the new parts division of the BORG Automotive Group - has acquired the exclusive rights.
The new Lucas range from BORG Automotive Newman includes more than 3,100 part numbers. The vast majority of these are spare parts for the engine: The product groups in this category – V-belts, V-ribbed belts, V-belt kits, belt pulley crankshafts, water pumps, and timing belt kits – together account for around 2,060 SKUs. Also, BORG Automotive Newman is adding almost 700 wheel bearing and wheel bearing kit part numbers in the chassis category under the Lucas brand to its catalog, as well as over 350 clutch kits for transmission repairs.
Like all BORG Automotive Newman products, the new Lucas replacement parts meet all manufacturer specifications and offer quality on par with original parts. This ensures easy installation and excellent performance. All part numbers will be added to TecDoc and the relevant electronic catalogues in 2025, and they will be available to retailers and workshops across Europe by the end of the first quarter of 2026.
And that's just the beginning, according to the company. BORG Automotive Newman's new product range starts with the well-known and proven selection of vehicle applications that has been tried and tested over many years, supplemented by newly added part numbers to meet current demand. At the same time, the company is already working on expanding the portfolio to cover an even larger vehicle fleet and to ensure that Lucas maintains its position as a forward-looking brand that offers its customers high added value and broad coverage.
“Lucas has been part of the BORG Automotive family for a long time,” explains Kasper Thomsen, CCO at BORG Automotive Group. “Since 2007, BORG Automotive Reman has offered remanufactured starters, alternators, A/C compressors, turbochargers, and EGR valves under this iconic brand.”
“We are now proud to expand the Lucas brand even further and revive a proven range, which will soon be appreciated by our customers. At the same time, we know the landscape is evolving - and so are we. That’s why we’re already working on expanding the portfolio.” Kasper Thomsen, CCO at BORG Automotive Group
The new product range will be showcased to the public for the first time at Equip Auto in Paris, hall 2.2 stand A102, taking place 14-18 October. BORG Automotive Newman invites visitors to experience the full breadth of the Lucas programme first-hand.
